What do we grow?

VK Greenhouses

In the heart of Charlottetown, PEI, the back acre of our downtown location is dedicated to a commercial hothouse operation. This is where we grow our absolutely delicious tomatoes and English cucumbers that are a tasty treat all summer long!

Cassidy Farms

Our location in beautiful Hampton, PEI, is responsible for all of our haskap and lavender production. As of 2023, we're also starting to plant flowering perennials at this location to provide a local option for beautiful cut flowers all summer long!

Haskap Berries

We are so proud to grow this superfood right here on PEI! With a taste somewhere in between wild blueberries and raspberries, haskap berries are as delicious as they are nutritious.

Haskaps contain three times the Vitamin C and antioxidants of blueberries! Antioxidants fight bad cells in the body to create an alkaline environment, which chronic diseases cannot thrive in. Immune health and good bacteria are also known to benefit from the presence of antioxidants. All of the health benefits of haskaps have placed them among the top super foods in the world. This delicious berry originates from Japan and Russia. "Haskap" is the Japanese name from the Latin Lonicera Caerulea. In Japan, the catchphrase applied to these berries is "The berry of long life and good vision!"

Haskaps can be used in your recipes just like blueberries, strawberries or raspberries! Bake into muffins, pancakes, a pie or a crumble. Cook into a sauce or a delicious, healthy jam. Add fresh or frozen into your smoothies, yogurt and granola. The possibilities are endless! See a few of our favourite recipes linked below:Bake into muffins, pancakes, a pie or a crumble. Hothouse Produce

Since 1963, our hothouse tomatoes have been an island staple. We began with just one variety of large slicer hothouse tomato, and over the years have diversified the greenhouse space to include cherry and grape tomatoes, as well as a small number of English cucumbers.

Take a tasty treat home!
